A new study looked at dog people and cat people on Facebook to find the biggest differences between them. And . . . they mainly just confirmed some stereotypes. Here are the four big things they found . . .1. Dog people seem more excitable and emotional . . . and cat people seem moodier and a little smug. The words that dog people are much more likely to use include “excited,” “proud,” “blessed,” and “fabulous.” Cat people’s top words are “tired,” “amused,” “annoyed,” “happy,” and “sad.”2. Cat people watch hipper TV shows. They’re more likely to watch anime, “Doctor Who”, and shows on Cartoon Network. Dog people are more likely to watch “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Duck Dynasty”.3. Dog people have an average of 26 more Facebook friends, but cat people get invited to more events.4. And finally, cat people are more likely to be single than dog people, 30% to 24%.
When I looked down the street from our parking spot in Hyde Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, I quickly noticed the unmistakable tall columns of a bank building. You’ve probably seen them as well in older communities. Banks built in the United States in the 1800’s and early 1900’s often included tall columns in the front facade, influenced by Greek and Roman architecture. I noticed the building still had the words “Hyde Park Savings Bank” engraved at the top. But it was no longer a bank. The green canopy sign over the door announced Teller’s, a restaurant known for its wide selection of beers and scrumptious food (Bananas Foster, anyone?). After visiting other renovated bank buildings, including one in our nearby community of Plymouth, Michigan, I had to go inside to check out the renovation myself. I smiled as I entered the restaurant. The restaurant architects and designers held true to the building’s origin and maintained the character of the original space. Teller’s of Hyde ParkWhen I walked through the door, I was impressed with the airiness and space in the two-story tall building. A main floor with long wooden bar on the right gave way to a staircase in the back, leading up to the second-story outdoor patio. And when I glanced to the left, I saw how Teller’s incorporated the old bank teller windows over the tables. Cool! After talking with the manager, I discovered the old teller windows were discovered in the basement of the building, along with a lot of other banking equipment, when they started renovating the building into a restaurant. If you look closely, you’ll notice the old bank deposit slip holders and the front key area of the safe deposit boxes are used to hold the salt and pepper shakers on each table. When was the last time you saw those type of deposit slip holders? I can’t recall! The old vault, commonly located at the back of the building? Now a private dining room. Fascinating to see the glass covered inner workings of the vault door! For the past few years the RIAA has been lurking around college campus intranets and using college IT and Administrators to choose their next unsuspecting pool of college victims. It seems that may be about to change and college students nationwide may now be able to breathe a little easier as their universities fight back. We’re Not Necessarily On Your SideDue to the transparency of college networks, students are an easy target for the RIAA’s resistant efforts. However, don’t get it twisted. Colleges are not about to start defending the students that actually violate copyright laws. For not only are these students violating the laws of the music industry, but also those of the college. With that being said, colleges are fighting back because they feel that the resources and time spent on chasing these students is cutting into better things that faculty members could be doing. The Costs and Efforts of the HuntSo what exactly does it cost colleges to hunt down these students? With the increasing number of subpoenas and “cease-and-desist” letters coming from the RIAA, it’s become a full-time job for college administration to keep up with students across their network, especially if the campus is huge. This has resulted in some colleges having to hire more full-time employees to monitor the networks and make sure the correct correspondents are actually violating the law and receive their notices. Talk about a time-consuming job! Not only that, colleges have also had to install more software to help track and monitor illegal network activities, which results in yet another software that IT employees have to get a handle on.Just Not Worth All the EffortIn the end, it’s understandable for some colleges to simply stop helping out the RIAA. Their efforts are costing them a ton of money and time. Instead, colleges are opting to focus their efforts towards their school’s mission statements and to the academic well-being of their students. Colleges could spend more time better educating their students on the most current software, upgrading their own systems to reflect these teachings, and overall helping their students in a variety of other ways. We’re sure students will be happy to hear this, but we’d like to warn college students once again that campus efforts to stop piracy will not stop completely. 12 Unique Gifts for the Hard-to-Shop-for People…
Numerous surveys and reports have found that the biggest worry businesses have today about adopting cloud/SaaS technologies is security. For example, security is reported as a top concern by analysts like IDC, Gartner, and Forrester. With concerns around security high, it is no wonder that businesses are carefully scrutinizing the terms describing security in their cloud and SaaS contracts. Unfortuantely, they’re usually not happy with what they’re seeing. Gartner found that 80 percent of IT procurement professions are not satisfied with the language that describes security in their SaaS contracts.Alexa Bona, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner, said that “We continue to see frustration among cloud services users over the form and degree of transparency they are able to obtain from prospective and current service providers. As more buyers demand it, and as the standards mature, it will become increasingly common practice to perform assessments in a variety of ways, including reviewing responses to a questionnaire, reviewing third-party audit statements, conducting an on-site audit and/or monitoring the cloud services provider.”The Gartner report found that “nearly all contracts have a force majeure clause that excludes several forms of catastrophic incident. If a failure simultaneously affected 1,000 customers, and each was entitled to $2 million of compensation, it would amount to a total payout of $2 billion. Ask service providers what their total liability would be in the case of a failure impacting all of their tenants, and demand evidence of adequately underwritten insurance.”What should customers look for in their SaaS contracts? TechRepublic reports that Gartner recommends the following:Audits – Annual security audits should be made that are backed by third-party certification. The findings should be available.Security and Recovery – Contract SLAs should include language about recovery times, recovery point objectives and data integrity. Penalties should kick in if the SLAs are missed.Written Commitments – Contract language should address security measures, protection from third party attacks, and vulnerability testing.Compensation and Penalties – Ideally the contract should provide meaningful compensation for lost security, service or data. This is often missing in many of today’s contracts.Despite anxiety around security, it doesn’t seem to be holding back businesses from signing onto cloud contracts. Gartner estimates that the SaaS market is growing at an unstoppable rate — from $14.5 billion in 2012 to more than $22 billion in 2015.

This is his second game in charge after the disappointing 2-2 draw with Lecce, a performance that saw several players including Suso bitterly criticised. “We won’t be part of any social or media pillory of our players. We are united, the objective is to be a team and fight for the results together,” said Pioli in his press conference. “If you hit one player, you hit us all, you hit me and you hit Milan. We have to be positive and not let ourselves get caught up in hysteria. “We’ve got to prove ourselves in every match and learn from the Lecce game where we should’ve been more concentrated. It’s not just about players being young or inexperienced, but the way we interpret the matches. “Tomorrow we are up against a Roma side that has lost only one game this season. I expect them to be determined and we need to match them on that level.” Pioli left Krzysztof Piatek on the bench in favour of Rafael Leao against Lecce, so will he use the same trident with Suso and Hakan Calhanoglu or draft in Ante Rebic? “I will choose the best line-up available, just as I did against Lecce. Leao and Piatek have different characteristics, so they can alternate, but also play together if we are able to find the right balance elsewhere. “I expect Lucas Paqueta to be more enterprising on the ball and create more danger going forward. He remains a midfielder, which means he needs to keep the intensity up throughout the match. “I liked the way Calhanoglu approached the game overall and not just the goal he scored. If we were to play Lucas Biglia and Ismael Bennacer together, we’d have to change other positions, which at the moment I do not want to change. We need some consistency at the moment. “The best possible team for the game will play tomorrow. That is all I can tell you, then you can read the XI when the time comes.” The new coach also tried to keep the expectations down, even though the club directors seem to believe in a top four finish. “We have to roll our sleeves up. We’ll try to win them all and then see where we are, that’s all we can do. I made no promises to anyone. All the players start with me on the same level and I’ll play those who can give me the most guarantees for that game.”
